Eagle Mountain debuts new Symphony Orchestra at concert

By Andrea Butler
A new venue for musicians just opened its doors and performed their first concert. The Eagle Mountain Symphony Orchestra had its debut concert on Monday, November 13, at the LDS Church on Lake Mountain Road in Eagle Mountain. The concert featured a family friendly event, and welcomed families to come listen to popular movie soundtracks such as "Harry Potter," "Star Wars," and "Psycho," but also included classical works from Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King," and Gounod's "Funeral March of a Marionette."

The concert was well attended and packed the cultural hall with a little over 200 in attending. Their upcoming concert will be at the Eagle Mountain City Hall for the City's Christmas Village on December 2nd.

This is the first season for the new symphony orchestra. They recently joined with the Eagle Mountain Arts Alliance. The Symphony has openings for more musicians. They rehearse on Fridays from 7-9 PM at the Faith Community Church in Eagle Mountain.
