Highland City Arts presents summer options for kids

Are you looking bleakly ahead at the long summer months, wondering just how you're going to keep your kids occupied? Highland City Arts is offering several classes and workshops that just might do the trick.
Summer Musical Theatre Class
The class will teach technical foundations in acting, singing and dancing to young artists ages 6 to 12. Class members will learn to perform, dance and sing on a stage. Cost is $30 per month. The class will be held once a week from May 3 to July 12. Class size is limited. To reserve your spot, call/text Kathy Castleton at 801-362- 0985 or send her an email at kathycastleton@gmail.com.
Creative Kids Summer Camp
There will be two sessions: May 29-June 2 and June 12-14 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at 6324 W. 10500 North, Highland. There will be hands-on arts and play activities. Each day of the camp will have a theme: Monday, Baking and Eating; Tuesday, Creative Art; Wednesday, Olympics Day; Thursday: Storytelling Day; and Friday, Water Games. The sessions are for children ages 5 to 10 and cost $45 per session. Kids may participate in both sessions. For more information, email HighlandChildrensChoir@gmail.com.
Affordable Summer Cheerleading Camp
Girls age 5 to 12 will enjoy a full week of instruction in cheer, fitness, dance and performance. Pom poms will be provided for each girl. Now accepting reservations for summer spots. For more information, email karlychree9@gmail.com.
Watercolor Class by Sharon Cannon
This class will be held on Mondays from 10 a.m. to noon with a new technique taught each week. Tuition is $12 per week.
Group Guitar Lessons by Kelley Gummow and Cayden Ottley
These summer classes will be held on Wednesdays for beginning and intermediate students. Cost is $75 for six 50-minute classes. There is a $5 discount for multiple family members. Adults are welcome. Contact Kelly at 801-450-1489 or gkgummow@gmail.com for more information.
