Miss American Fork 2017 crowned

Brittany Mangum, 18, has been named Miss American Fork 2017. Mangum received a $3,000 scholarship at the June 30 pageant held at the American Fork Senior Center. She was crowned by Miss American Fork 2016 Mimi Peyregne.

Her attendants are First Attendant Lisa Leikam, 21, (she replaced original first runner up Allison Lawrence who was initially named first attendant but stepped down) and Second Attendant Aubrey Moedl, 18. Leikam received a $1,200 scholarship and Moedl received a $900 scholarship.

Mangum, whose platform is domestic violence awareness and prevention, performed a vocal selection for her talent. She recently graduated from American Fork High School where she was the Sterling Scholar state runner up in business and marketing and received several scholarships. She will be attending Utah Valley University in the fall.

Miranda Fender was named Miss Congeniality and Jordan Tidwell received the Director's Award.

Eight young women participated in the pageant: Jordan Tidwell, Jenna Reimschussel, Kirsten Anderson, Miranda Fender, Allison Lawrence, Aubrey Moedl, Lisa Leikam and Brittany Mangum.

According to Pageant Director Jenny Thacker, the American Fork royalty would be helping out with Steel Days July 6 to 15 and would appear in the Steel Days parade July. 15.
