Northern Utah Notes June 8, 2017, 2:41 pmAlpine City has made some changes to its dog ordinance. As part of the Lone Peak Public Safety District, the city does not issue dog licenses. Instead, the North Utah Valley Animal Shelter sets the licensing fees and collects them for all of the cities in the district. The Alpine ordinance was changed to reflect that. The city council also repealed the city's hobby breeder permit and replaced it with a kennel permit. Formerly, city ordinance only allowed residents two dogs, but with a kennel permit, residents can have more dogs with the approval of the city and an inspection by an animal control officer. All dogs over six months old are also required to have a current rabies vaccination and to be licensed. American Fork UDOT will be realigning the 200 East and State Street intersection in American Fork. In preparation for that project, the city has hired Construction Material Recycling to move water pipes in the area. The $414,430 project will involve installing 1,550 feet of ductile iron pipe in 200 East between Main Street and 100 North and in State Street/Highway 89 at the intersection of State Street and Main Street. As part of the project, the contractor will also install new service connections along 200 East between Main Street and 100 North. The project is being funded out of the city's water line replacement account. Lehi The Lehi City Arts Council will present "Little Mary Sunshine" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20, to Monday, May 29, at the Lehi Arts Center, 685 N. Center, Lehi. "Little Mary Sunshine," a musical that parodies old-fashioned musicals and operettas, is directed by Jerry Elison. Auditions Auditions for "Seussical," which will run Aug. 4 to 12, will be held Wednesday, May 17, and Thursday, May 18, at the Lehi Arts Center, 685 N. Center. Actors ages 16 and older should come prepared to sing 16 bars of a Broadway-style song. Bring a resume and a headshot if available.
