American Fork Hospital in top 100 June 9, 2017, 4:55 pmTruven analyzed hospital performance in hospitals across the nation based on "key quality measures" from 2011 to 2015. The study, which began in 1993, evaluates the performance of hospitals across the country in 11 key areas that encompass their ability to safeguard patients, improve outcomes, provide evidence-based treatments and deliver care at a reasonable cost. Hospitals on the list demonstrated major improvements in inpatient mortality and complication rates, 30-day re-admissions and lengths of stay. The majority of the 100 hospitals maintained steady treatment costs. Other Utah hospitals on the list were University of Utah Health Care, Salt Lake City; LDS Hospital, Salt Lake City; Alta View Hospital, Sandy; and Lakeview Hospital, Bountiful. "This recognition from Truven Health is an honor for our hospital and our community," said Jason Wilson, administrator of American Fork Hospital. We are very pleased to be among the top hospitals in the nation." The 100 top hospitals were announced in the March 6 edition of Modern Healthcare magazine.
