County will provide election services for Highland

By Linda Petersen
HIGHLAND—The city has contracted with Utah County to provide election services this year. Lt. Governor Spencer Cox has instructed all cities that, due to the special election for the 3rd Congressional District seat vacated by Jason Chaffetz, the counties should manage both the special and municipal elections in that district.

The Primary Election will be held Aug. 15. Mail in ballots for those positions where more than two people have filed will be sent out to registered voters about two weeks prior. The General Election will be Nov. 7. Voters will receive their ballots around Oct 17.

Because all elections in Utah County are mail-in, all voting will be done by mail this year. There will be a service center at City Hall on Election Day, but there will not be voting booths.

The city council also approved the Day annexation of 10.05 acres, located at approximately 10400 North 6000 West, in June.
